Lena Hoschek Take 2

I thought I'd share a few more items from Lena Hoschek's fabulous line. I especially love her blouses and skirts!

Lena Hoschek

Lets just take a minute to swoon over the fabulousness that is Lena Hoschek. I absolutely love her clothes!! I'm sure they are way out of my price range and aren't even available in the US, but her site inspires me to no end.

Hair Pic and Some Recent Purchases

I really liked how my hair turned out on saturday so I took some pics of it.

I did pin curls around the face and then brushed the back under.

Heres a close up shot. I tried to hide the bobby pins but some of them were harder than others.

I also purchased a few things. I'm keeping it cheap so I can buy Christmas gifts.

A vintage pink slip. $5 on Ebay

A wool a-line skirt. Its made by Talbots and I got it on Ebay for $15. I love the color and don't have anything like it.

And this little gem that I found at Boss Vintage for $36. The stitching is pink and the material is a grey linen. It looks like a womens Hollywood jacket and I absolutely love it!!

Stuff I Want: Boots

Now that the weather has officially changed (its snowed TWICE this week!) I am craving boots. I have a couple pairs but of course I am coveting more! I really can't buy anything though :-( I have a pretty brutal dentist bill due and I'm trying to buy some things for Christmas. So for now I will just window shop!

$27.80
I am looking for flatter heeled boots and these might do the trick. They're pretty simple, which I like, yet they still have a vintage quality to them.

$29.80
I'm not a big fan of brown but I love these! They have them in black but I actually prefer this color.

$54.00
I love majorette boots and want a pair really bad!

$21.59
Fur booties. ~Sigh~

$26.39
These would be good for when it snows. The heel is pretty flat and the faux fur will keep me really warm!
$49.99
Love Love Love these!! Not boots really but I think I can forgive them because they are so darned cute!!

I'm Gonna Go Postal on the Post Office!!

I'm so mad!! I purchased this Franciscan gravy boat on Etsy for Oscar. It was going to be a Christmas present to add to our collection.

I was excited to get it in the mail today but as I unwrapped it I discovered this:

Yup. A huge chip!!  I could tell that it was damaged from the Post Office too as all the little chips were still wrapped in the bubble wrap. Luckily the Etsy seller is going to refund half of the money for me but I'm still out some money and no gift for Oscar. It makes me really sad. Its not the money because it really wasnt expensive. Its the fact that this beautiful, collectible piece that was in great condition is now ruined. No one wants chipped Franciscan!!

Oh well. Lesson learned. Tell the seller to pack it well and write 'fragile' on the side. Also, purchase insurance!!!

A Different Day a Different Hat

I am obsessed with hats lately, but I seem to always wear the same hat. I love my little black and tan cloche but I really do need to broaden my horizons. I will make more of an effort to wear all of the other lovelies I have amassed recently.

Monday

Today. I forgot my lipstick.

Bad view of me, better view of the hat.

My friend Cara sent me this image and I love it! Find it here. It makes me realize that I need a red beret.

It reminds me of the picture I took on the Queen Mary.

They both inspire me to wear more eyeshadow!!

Origins

I've been a little unhappy with my skin lately. I have begun to get blackheads all over the place, mostly on my forehead and chin area. Its really annoying and I think I know the culprit. A certain moisturizer that my company makes has been blamed for clogging pores on some people, and I happen to use it. So I decided I wanted to try something new. I used to use Origins and remember really liking it, so I took advantage of the Friends and Family sale at Beauty.com and stocked up on it. Here is what I got.

This is a serum that is supposed to transform the skin and reduce pores. Hopefully this will get rid of my blackhead problem!
$38.50

This is a value set of Youthtopia products. There is a serum, an eye cream and a moisturizer. There is also a Modern Friction dermabrasion scrub.
$44.20

This is a value set of A Perfect World products including a serum, an SPF moisturizer and an antioixident moisturizer.
$47.50

With the 20% discount and free shipping I got it all for $104. I also got some free samples. To get their discount you have to sign up for their email alerts. Its worth it though because Origins never does discounts on their products!!

October Spookfest-Halloween Weekend Round-up

I know that October is technically over but I wanted to share my pics from Halloween. Or actually the whole Halloween weekend.

On friday we carved all of the baby pumpkins.

Turns out Calvin has a thing for pumpkin. He kept eating the innards.

Jack Skellington

A China man vampire.

666

A traditional Jack-o-lantern

That night we went to Beauty Bar to see all of our friends from Fashionation DJ. The theme was Sweeney Todd, but we didnt dress up.

Oscar, Creeper Steve, and Drew

Me, Carly and Cakes

DJ Dougy-Cakes

Saturday we had a costume party to go to and were scrambling for costumes. We never had time to put together the Beetlejuice costumes so we decided to do Ed Wood instead.

I was Bela Lugosi and Oscar was Ed Wood in drag.

I think I looked more like Eddie Munster.

Also a quick couple of reviews. I watched Paranormal Activity for the first time. I thought it was pretty good. There were definitely some parts that had me freaked out a bit. I also watched The Walking Dead last night. Its amazing!!!! Its so well done and really scary. I can't wait to see the rest of the series!!

I hope that everyone had an amazing Halloween as well!
